"Christmas is a time of such infinite labor, as well as expense in the present making and shopping line, that almost every woman I know is good for nothing in purse and person for a month afterwards, done up physically and broken down financially."
— Fanny Kemble, Actress/Writer Dec 31st 1874
T'is the eve of Christmas Eve and if we've an ounce of energy left in the reserves, it's time for a little reflection on what really matters. If you haven't finished that never-ending list, there's likely a good reason for it. Improvise and give yourself a pat on the back for another festive season well done, or somewhat done!
I do know it's not just we women who pull off the core of Christmas (and other holidays), but I do think this particular mid-Winter revelry would look a lot simpler if left entirely to the fellas.
And so to all my women friends, near and far and especially my lovely mum and sisters, it's almost Christmas. It might not be precisely what we had in mind, but it's here. Spirit of the season, love and peace and rest to us all.
