This summer I've been in a regrouping mode, taking stock of my writing career by focusing on the bigger picture of almost five whole years of Southern Sonoma County lifestyle blog posts.
Judging by the site's loyal readership here in the U.S. and the UK particularly (as pictured here on Google's nifty recent visitor map), slices of daily life in our quiet little part of the world clearly do have considerable appeal.
Determined not to miss the boat on the chance to paint a much broader canvas in words of the earthy essence of our landscape and the people who are making it such a wonderful place to live and work, create and raise a family, I've been diligently putting the best of my vignettes, interviews and observations together, in a more cohesive body of work that focuses of specific aspects of local life.
I'm about half way through my first draft of my first book and hope to have it pretty much figured out by the time December's fifth year anniversary of the site that started it all rolls around.
By telling you this, I'm holding myself accountable to my self-imposed first draft deadline. Thank you world outside my window for reading along and encouraging me to chronicle our remarkable community, this splendid, shared Southern Sonoma Country Life.
