There's a felt hat revival taking place in Petaluma this winter. Ask Aqus Cafe at Foundry Wharf partner John Crowley - he'll tell you that the style revival started with a suggestion by Committee for the Shelterless chief, John Records, who favors a felt hat himself, during colder months.
Crowley agreed that a passion for felt hat fashion would be a fun idea to promote around town. Let's see how many folk take a notion to join the grasroots SoCo felt hat style revival. American-made, mind you. Let's keep things authentic around here.
Take your pick from Fedora to Indiana Jones, Mad Men to Bowler, or even Top Hat if you're on your way down to the Great Dickens Christmas Fair for its final weekend.
Southern Sonoma Country Life would like to hear your suggestions as to stockists of American-made felt hats in Petaluma. Send in your photos of felt hat revivalists and let's get this style file filling the streets. You might try the newly expanded, treasure trove of a Chicka-Boom Vintage store at 145 Kentucky Street or Louis Thomas Mens Store across the road at 150 Kentucky.
