Not many people this side of the pond know this, but in the rugged, remote islands and highlands of bonny Scotland, Saint Patrick remains as much a celebrity as he is and long time has been in Ireland (and certainly here in the USA). Saint Patrick's Day in Scotland is recognized as the first official day of spring. A southern wind will be anticipated amongst the robust residents of the Hebrides this morning, carrying Saint Patrick himself to pay a wee visit to parishioners. Come evening time, a northern wind will carry him all the way back to the emerald Isle.
Oh, and by the way, if you find a four leaf clover by searching too diligently, it won't be bringing you a pinch of luck. Find one by chance and it's the real deal!
P.S. Petalumans in search of a spot of spirited Saint Patrick's Day Irish dancing would do well to stop in for a Guinness and a tasty plate of of corned beef and cabbage at Pazzo's restaurant, downtown, 132 Keller St - sometime around 7pm.

And he's also welsh! Captured by Irish raiders so funny that he had such an affinity with the country in the end
