I
have it on good word (oldest son, Rocco & his band Waters is participating which means that the double bass will be making a repeat appearance in the back of the family wagon some time soon ) - that this
Saturday's (Feb 27th -2010) Santa-Rosa-staged HOOTENANNY promises a hay-bale-stomping celebration of
American roots music, coupled with lots of tasty, home made pies, good people, a
western saloon for liquid libations and plenty of lip-smacking Sonoma County slow food including bbq and
chili.
Hosted at The North
Bay Film and Art Collective at 99 Sixth Street, doors open at 4pm and the
cover is just $7 bucks (kids free). Large part of the evening profits are going
to towards the Arlene Francis Foundation, a group that is working to turn the
North Bay Film and Art Collective into a vibrant center for art and education
in our community.
Musicians are invited to bring an instrument and visit the Hootenanny folk
session 'Jam Room' and most of the talented Sonoma County folk musicians
performing throughout the event will be selling their CD’s and merchandise. Get
to know the burgeoning indie-Americana music scene in your backyard. Fiddles, double bases, banjos galore, accordions, blue jeans, flannel shirts and beards. Dig out your suede jacket and boots. See you there!
