During a truly inspirational, highly energized Petaluma Educational Foundation annual board retreat this Wednesday afternoon in the cozy function room upstairs at Graziano's, one of the sweetest bits of news I've heard in a while was the power of the humble penny.
According to Dr Scott Mahoney, superintendent of Petaluma's Meadow School and Corona Creek School's 900-student Waugh School District, a call for a penny collection for Haiti earthquake relief raised a whopping $6,000. Just goes to show, a little can go a long way when we truly dig deep.
