Now in its seventy-fifth year, Petaluma's internationally esteemed Scott Laboratories opens its doors exclusively to industry members and friends of the Petaluma Gap Winegrowers Alliance at 6pm, on Thursday, January 14th.
At Scott Laboratories one of this family-owned company's most important products is its exemplary service. Laboratory and machine services offer some of the most expert knowledge in the wine industry. In a business where just about anything can go wrong, and often does, Scott Labs services offers speedy solutions and preventative maintenance to winemakers not only here in Sonoma County, but around the most prestigious wine making regions of the world.
This makes for a wealth of experience in wines from varietals in a multitudinous range of terroir. "We will start the evening off with a quick tour of the lab where we will go over all the lab instrumentation," says Lab Director Maggie McBride. "Guests will learn what the instruments are used for and how they help in wine making decisions."
Tasting trials of wines that have been manipulated with acid,
alcohol, and various wine enhancement products will follow the tour of Scott Laboratory's new facility at 2277 Pine View Way Suite 101
Petaluma, CA 94954.
To attend this event, download a membership application for the Petaluma Gap Winegrowers Association. Membership coordinators will endeavor to process your application in time for you to RSVP for this special event.
The Scott Labs Test and Tour event is the first of a series of special events, exclusive member-only parties and vineyard tours to take place within the intimate Petaluma Gap growing region throughout 2010. You don't have to be a grower or a winemaker to participate, though an increasing number of Petaluma area 'garagistes' have joined the ranks this past year. At a reduced yearly rate, Friends of the Petaluma Gap can enjoy the social/educational experience while tasting super-exclusive vintages at the group's private gatherings.
