For those who have yet to fall under the sweet and sultry spell of Petaluma singer songwriter, the drop dead gorgeous Ashley Allred, make a note of her name, for I'm certain she's set for a successful launch on a larger platform for her unique modern-folk music, performance art at the start of this brand new decade.
Ashley and her band Odd Bird will open for Brit, DAVID J (Bauhaus and Love and Rockets) at the Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco this Sunday (January 10th) night. Presented by Pirate Cat Radio, tribute band Luv'n Rockets follows Ashley's opening act, with doors open at 8pm. $15 tickets have been selling like hot cakes as hundreds flock to the Cafe Du Nord for a front row audience with one of Sonoma County's most hottest exports!
Describing her sound as an intriguing blend of watered plants, steamy nights, spirit animals, tarot cards, and whiskey drinks, Ashley's innovative sense of vintage fashion and musical collaboration incorporates guitar, autoharp, flute, saw, piano and other noises.
Look for a full-length feature article on Ashley once I've had a chance to sit down with a cup of coffee with the busy girl at some point this Spring.

Oddbird is indeed a peaceful sound still full of energy, sort of like hydrogen, everything is right there.
