Don't forget to keep this Saturday afternoon free for the third annual Taste of Petaluma, which takes place at all the hot boutique and eatery venues downtown and throughout the theater district September 27, from 11:30am to 4:30pm.
One of my favorite theater district jaunts for all things European is Haus Fortuna, located at 111 2nd Street and packed to the brim with beautiful handcrafted place settings from Italia, table linens and kitchen utensils, elaborate ceramics. Owner Karla Schikore ought to be the very first merchant host on your Taste of Petaluma Tour with such a terrific assortment of tastings taking place inside the store. Plus Karla is contributing 20% of her sales that day to the Taste of Petaluma.
Here's what you can expect to have pass your lips at the Haus Fortuna pit-stop:
*Tupelo Honeycomb Tasting: "Queen of the honey world". "Tupelo is one of the rarest and most valuable liquids in the world. The taste...indescribable. We will be pairing it with wonderful cheeses and speciality breads," says Karla.
