Prestigious Sonoma Harvest Fair Sweepstake winner, Petaluma's Adobe Road's 2005 Sonoma County Zinfandel continues to blaze a red-hot trail through California wine competitions, razing a clear path to the teetering hights of the region's soon-to-be most sought-after wines.
Taste of Petaluma participants were extraordinarily fortunate to find a little tipple each of this limited edition local wine winner in their hands at La Dolce Vita Wine Lounge in Theater Square on Saturday afternoon.
For Adobe Road's blockbuster was also North of the Gate Wine Competition Sweepstake winner this year making it a highly decorated, nine gold medal winner to date. This champion vintage sells on shelves at Petaluma's Vine & Barrel and in the winery's discreet tasting room on the East side of town for $34. What a wonderful accolade to the continual growth of first class wines coming out of the exclusive Petaluma Gap microclimate and its relatively small community of innovative winemakers.
One of Petaluma Gap Grape Alliance's leading members, Adobe Road also won Best of Class at the Harvest Fair for the 2005 Knight's Valley Cabernet Franc.
A Double Gold went indirectly to Petaluma Gap member winery Rockin H Ranch for its 2006 Sonoma Coast Syrah via producer Harts Desire Wines.
