Mark you calendar for Sunday, June 4th — Petaluma's Heritage Salvage welcomes Julia Butterfly Hill, Brock Dolman & Trathen Heckman for a super fun event called Big Mama Day – a celebration of the Planet!
Noon to 6pm . . . The Highway Poets, The doRiaN Mode and other local musician favorites.
Julia Butterfly Hill is best known for having lived 180 feet up in an ancient redwood tree for over two years, without touching the ground in order to protect the tree and its surrounding grove.
This is a benefit for Petaluma-based Daily Acts – Trathen Heckman is the founder of Daily Acts, publisher of Ripples Journal and a backyard farmer. Former director of Green Sangha, he serves on the board of Transition US.
Trathen inspires, educates and collaborates with communities, business and municipal leaders to harness the power of nature and inspired action to restore the health of our lives and communities.
Brock Dolman of The Occidental Arts & Ecology Center (OAEC) co-directs the WATER Institute, Permaculture Design Program and Wildlands Program.
OAEC is an 80-acre research, demonstration, advocacy and organizing center in Sonoma County, developing strategies for regional-scale community resilience.
