“There is peace even in the storm”
Vincent Van Gogh
My goodness, what a start to 2017. We all knew we were in for a wild one, but so far there's been no holding back. Not on any front. Hot Toddies all around.
If you don't partake, simply switch out the bourbon part for your favorite hot tea.
Bourbon & Honey Hot Toddy (Makes 2)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 cup hot water
- 6 tablespoons of good bourbon
- 2 strips of fresh lemon peel
- 2 cinnamon sticks
Stir honey and water in a measuring cup until honey dissolves. Add your best bourbon. Pour into two nice glasses. Twist a strip of lemon peel over each drink before adding to glass. Stir heartily with a cinnamon stick and serve.

“The rain set early in tonight,
The sullen wind was soon awake,
It tore the elm-tops down for spite,
And did its best to vex the lake:
I listened with heart fit to break.
When glided in Porphyria; straight
She shut the cold out and the storm,
And kneeled and made the cheerless grate
Blaze up and all the cottage warm;”
Robert Browning
“Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain.”
Vivian Greene
