Em Rossi sat down with me poolside in her Southern Sonoma County home she shares with her Mom and older brother and a menagerie of much loved family pets, to catch up post high school graduation and chat about her most recent music video release "Young Hearts" (almost 3 million views on YouTube around the world), television and radio appearances and magazine/online interviews.
It's what she's been working on with a rare passion for a teen, these past couple of difficult years since losing her Dad and mentor, Rob and Em walked the walk at graduation, having rocked the online charts and a stellar GPA.
Now the dust has settled on her school books, the feisty songstress with her signature sound and flowing blonde locks is looking to take her music career to the next level.
"My song Young Hearts will be featured on the easy listening program on United Airlines September and October," said Em, "a remix of Young Hearts by Tom Colontonio will be featured on the Dance Show on United Airlines September and October." Her first release, "Earthquake" is currently featured on the inflight Hits List for United Airlines this month.
Em has been getting lots of radio play locally on KRCB with Brian Griffith and KSRO 103.5FM The Drive with Steve Jaxon and Michael "Bug" Deakin (of Heritage Salvage). Also on: Lite 100.5FM WRCH - Star 94.1 and 105.7 FM - iHeart radio station,
"I performed on my first morning tv show, recently - Good Day Sacramento, which was great fun," said Em.
The soon-to-be 18-year-old is having a lot of fun and fan reach with mobile apps Smule (download the app and take on a Karaoke duet with Em) and Cameo.
I asked Em what's next, at a time when most of her peers are kicking back for summer in readiness for packing for college. The straight A student has chosen to defer university for a year to focus on bolstering what has been an awesome start in building more momentum in the highly competitive music biz.
