Are you getting used to the idea of 2016? Here we are already a few days into the new year and it's time for me to take back the keyboard with some quality posts on life, times, arts and culture, cool things being done and to do within our community here in the south county.
The holidays for me were joyful, action packed and full to overflow with quality family time — attending as many festive parties around town as humanly possible, getting drenched in a rain storm at Dillon Beach on Christmas Eve, joining the bustling festivities of dear family friends for the best Christmas dinner in the west, sharing meals with and hanging out with my now grown-up sons, hikes with Rosie the rescue dog, oysters on the half shell at Hog Island and last but not least, a whirlwind trip to Victoria, British Columbia for New Years via the awesome little Santa Rosa Airport (my first time!).

By the time this post publishes I plan to have finally got around to (reluctantly) putting away my favorite Christmas china, taken down the tree and banished that very last crumb of Meyer lemon shortbread!
Though I love the holidays with a sentimental passion, anticipation and excitement of a brand new year really is the consolation prize when all of the glitter and magic of December is packed away.
An old-fashioned desk calendar for the next twelve months is largely in pending mode. It's a big year for my family, multiple important milestones ahead and all sorts of travels and new starts set to unfold. And yes, for all who have so kindly enquired, my second book is coming along in leaps and bounds and will be my main focus with rainy January days ahead.
As always, I look forward to hearing from you with ideas, suggestions and things to share with our community on Southern Sonoma Country Life throughout the coming year.
May 2016 bring joy, happiness, good health and adventures large and small to you and yours and to our collective community family.
Warmly,
Frances

Beautiful post Frances, as always, and indeed I also always love the start of a new year as an exciting opportunity for so many things!
Wishing you and your family abundant blessings in the 2016...May it be the best year ever for all of us!
Blessings,
Anastasia
P.S. Can't wait to get your next book! :-)

Ha! Timo has us on a "peasant diet" this week, utilizing every last scrap of food from the festive stock. No wine. We'll see how long that lasts!
