On Saturday, October 11, 2014, The Fabulous Women of Sonoma County will host an event in support of Baby Ruth Olivia. Based in Petaluma, this very special non-profit is dedicated to supporting meaningful local causes, bringing light and hope to local families who are going through extraordinary hardship. Every cause championed gives the group an opportunity to empower the next generation and model generosity and kindnes through community gatherings.
Baby Ruth Olivia was born on May 19, 2014. She was diagnosed with Type A Esophageal Atresia, which means that her esophagus did not grow to connect with her stomach. Little Ruth has endured numerous medical procedures, multiple surgeries, ten days in an induced coma, and months in the hospital. During this difficult time, her parents have, of course, had to stay very close to her which meant taking an extended leaves of absence from their work. As you might imagine, not only did this ordeal take a great emotional toll on her family, but also created a substantial financial burden.
Ruth is our Petaluma Sweetheart. She’s an incredible fighter. Although she was recently released to come home, she has a long medical road ahead of her. She will need to go back and forth to San Francisco to undergo further treatment. As a community, The Petaluma Fabulous Women and friends try their best to pull people through their extraordinary challenges. Please consider supporting this effort to aid the family by making a financial donation or offering an item for Saturday's raffle.
If you would like to offer a raffle prize, it's not too late to donate gift cards and fun basket fillers for this event. Just leave a message and a group member will pick up donations for the day. Every donation is Tax Deductible.
This is a family friendly event. Kids are welcome. Bring balls to play with on the property, where there is plenty of room to sprawl out on the lawn with a picnic blanket
*Please bring an appetizer, a bottle of wine or beverage to share. To cut back on waste, bring a fun glass.
