Return to a time of carefree innocence with Salad Days at Stinson beach, this summer! We're so busy plotting our vacation escapes that it's easy to overlook options for r&r; on our own doorstep.
And getting there is every bit as enjoyable as the destination down by the Pacific ocean in the wilds of West Marin.
Having spent the first post-youth-sports-season weekend in months with girlfriends at Jennifer Boesel's stylish Stinson Beach house, a breathtakingly beautiful hike up into the coastal redwoods and a walk on the beach was a great, gulp of fresh air for all.
Cosmos, strawberries, great piles of fashion, food and travel magazines, wholemeal toast, minty fruit salad and scrambled eggs, chocolate, salt and vinegar chips, farm fresh, oven-roasted chicken and rosemary potatoes, late afternoon sunshine over cresting waves all the way to Bolinas and back.
Before you take that drive to the beaches down south, think how tempting a Bay Area staycation at Stinson could be? A popular spot to hang the sun hat with international visitors, Jennifer's clean, light and contemporary place has vacation rental openings this June and the odd dates here and there through peak season if you're thinking of heading over the hill for a few sublime days with friends or family (sorry, no pets), or a solo escape by the sea.
