Hot of the sizzling press, I have it on great authority that the best of the best from my all-time favorite Anglo/American author, the venerable Mr. Bill Bryson, is coming to the big screen sometime in the foreseeable future!
For Bryson's epic and hilarious A Walk in the Woods was not just an all-time top pick of mine, but apparently the number one read of none other than the right honorable Hollywood royal, Robert Redford!
Now this is a magical combo for sure. Mr Redford just so happens to have been the leading man in my life-long favorite movie, Out of Africa. And here he is again, after an interval of so many years, portraying the brilliant, intellectually superb, sarcastic, self-effacing, cute, cuddly, bespectackled and altogether utterly adorable trans-continental family man, Bryson.
Can I wait? Not hardly. And for those of us who hold A Walk in the Woods most dear, who do you suppose will be cast as Bryson's traveling companion? Jack Black (too young), Jack Nicholson (too old), ok, suggestions, please......
P.S. While we're on this subject, Steph tells me that Julia Roberts has been cast in the newly announced screen adaptation of the enormously popular autobiographcal novel Eat, Pray, Love. OK, literary girlfriends. What do you think about that?

Ooh fab, I loved that book. Didn't think I would, but really enjoyed it.
