Partying like its 2021 is certainly going to be an extremely measured affair — though this is a New Year's that we're all so ready for.
I've had a little fun with a foray back through history for some vintage holiday photos to spark a festive note and one of hope for revisiting life-affirming good company and merriment in the years to come.
May the old year roar out and the New Year roll gently in. Wishing you and yours a safe and peaceful, healthy and contemplative end to 2020 in the warmth and comfort of home.
We've learned a lot about ourselves this year, what we miss, what we don't miss, what we absolutely can't wait to return to in our lives. Whatever it is you are looking forward to most, may it be yours by the time the next New Year barrels around.
I'm most thankful for my loved ones and for laughter.
Friends and family have never been more dear to me. Even (and mostly) if it's on the other end of a screen.
I've been missing my holiday sparkle in the wardrobe department — though I try to make an effort to wear something nice each day!
Home spun everything this year has been in vogue — from knitted hats to home brews, bitters, baked goods . . . and creative ways to maintain our hair-dos!
Making time to reconnect has been awesome.
Keeping the bubble to less than a crowd is key, but has been very hard for the more socially inclined. Wearing masks is likely to be made mandatory in the U.S in 2021 and hopefully this practical implementation will encourage more people to get on board with the notion that we all have a major part to play in slowing the spread of the pandemic to a point where the most vulnerable are freed from constant fear and peril.
Let's hear it for the kids. I hope they all get to go back to school soon.
And our health care professionals and all of front line folk‚ especially all of the incredibly dedicated ICU staff as well as the many thousands of test administrators who've been standing out in the cold and rain — they are the heroes of our era.
Hanging on to a sense of humor and the knowledge that this too shall pass.
Good times will come again.
Didn't learn a new language or write a book? Neither did I! Though I am working on a new book and hope to have a renewed focus in 2021.
