Santa and Mrs. Claus may be the only ones traveling this holiday season, but they'll be making their way from the North Pole to Petaluma on a Lind Marine tugboat in a holiday season visit that will look a little different this year.
And their biggest Christmas wish is that everyone stay healthy!
Instead of disembarking downtown, as per Petaluma tradition, Santa and Mrs. Claus will stay on the tug. Families are invited to find a safe viewing spot along the Petaluma River - socially distanced from other households to give a shout out to Santa as he cruises by.
Their cruise starts at 11:00am, Saturday Nov 28th on D Street by Steamer Landing Park. The tug will sail south on the Petaluma River past the Sheraton Sonoma Wine Country Petaluma, and continue south reaching Shollenberger Park at about 11:30am.
From Shollenberger, the tug will turn north and sail towards the Turning Basin, arriving about noon. The tugboat will make a couple of loops in the Turning Basin providing plenty of time for the little ones to catch a glimpse of the jolly pair.
Downtown merchants will offer all sorts of treats and special deals that same Small Business Saturday. It’s the perfect time to check off the names on your gift-giving list.
