Petaluma Chorale's 2017 holiday concert Music For a Winter's Eve, Tuesday, December 5th and Saturday, December 9th at Petaluma Valley Baptist Church, is directed and conducted by Linda Manuilow.
Winter’s Eve” features music by Enya, Alfred Lord Tennyson and Sara Teasdale. Concert goers will be treated to the chorale's renditions of classics such as “I’ll be Home for Christmas", “Stars I shall Find”, “Still, Still, Still”, “The Shepherd’s Chorus”, “Esta Noche", and "Noche de Paz", plus a gorgeous rendition of Silent Night.
Songs from almost every continent are to be featured — songs that we are all familiar with, classical, traditional, comedic, simple and stunning in lyrical beauty — four and five and six part harmonies.
According to the chorale's David Freedman, concert-goers should expect to be transported by: "Music to close your eyes and drift away from the clutter of commuting and commercialism, songs to bring tears to your eyes. Songs to make you laugh, songs to remember how this time of the year was when you were young . . . "
Music for a Winter's Eve is suitable for all ages and bound to have you singing along. Homemade Cookies and drinks are served at intermission. General admission $12.00. Seniors $10, and children under 12 Free.
Concert times are 7.30pm on Tues Dec 5th and 3pm in the afternoon on Sat Dec 9th. Petaluma Valley Baptist Church is located at 580 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma.
