"Small cheer and great welcome makes a merry feast." — William Shakespeare
Wishing you and yours a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving — more than ever here in Sonoma County this year, we count our blessings for our family, our friends and our neighbors and especially the many thousands of incredibly brave heroes and volunteers from near and far and around the world who came to the rescue and comfort of so many during the devastating October wildfires in our region.
While the testing continues as those in our communities figure out their often complex way forward, Thanksgiving 2017 is a day to take time to reflect and to be grateful for the simple fact we find ourselves together here in this beautiful part of the world, with its wonderful, warm and caring people.
Enjoy your day, however humble or elaborate the festivities. And remember:
"Things turn out best for people who make the best of the way things turn out." — John Wooden
"Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is" — Ernest Hemingway
"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other as is though everything is a miracle." — Albert Einstein
"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom." — Marcel Proust
