Meet Tessa Marianne, the intrepid photo blogger behind Traveling Tessa — currently half way through an amazing ten week road trip through the American West and taking us along for the ride with her stunning shots of National Parks.
Colorado-based college grad, Tessa set off on her most ambitious adventure, in June of this year, navigating her 8,000 mile solo trip and car camping through 25 parks in eight states and two countries (USA & Canada) and later this summer, two more extraordinary parks in faraway Australia.
Tessa cleverly outfitted her Nissan Rogue with a platform, mattress and storage space to camp out of her car the majority of the time. It was my pleasure to host this adventurous and talented young photographer following her memorable pit-stop at beautiful Point Reyes National Seashore.
We had fun hanging out in West Petaluma. Tessa took her first steps here, in Petaluma, in fact and I have been keeping in close contact with her mom, Kathy, ever since. The family relocated to Colorado when Tessa was a tot. After a couple of days of r&r and restocking her rig, Tessa headed north to the redwoods and on to Portland, Seattle and over the border into Canada.
It was inspiring to hear of her experiences on the road. What strength of character to embark on a solo trip of such scope and magnitude. Tessa's photos are just as inspirational as her story.
Up next: Australia! Tessa will spend almost a month exploring this vast country and visiting her dad (for the first time in over a decade).
Do check out Tessa's trip, post-by-post, by clicking here & better still, subscribe to her blog. It's a big, wide world of adventure out there and it would be terrific is Tessa is able continue on with her travel photography as a career, after she completes this particular trip.
