It's raining, it's pouring . . . what could be better than walking the crew downtown and picking up a copy or two of my new book, Fog Valley Winter to while away the rest of the weekend indoors? Better still, set yourself up for fall and winter with a stack of books by local authors.
If you're in the Petaluma area, stop in at B Street Mercantile, Copperfield's Books, Free Range, Moj-San Garden & Gift, Petaluma Home & Garden, Petaluma Visitor's Center or Velvet Ice Boutique. Redwood Cafe in Cotati has books too (breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner & a book — doubly delicious).
Stuck indoors? If you order one online, I'm happy to don my waterproofs and wade down to the post office with a copy post-haste.
Next up for author readings, my second in a series of the three wonderful Rotary Clubs in town, West Sonoma's first annual book fair (a gathering of SoCo authors at Sebastopol Grange), Thursday evening November 10th, followed by an evening of local wine, cheese (Bellwether Farms, no less) a reading from my book and conversation at the Petaluma Historical Library and Museum on Nov 30th, 6.30 pm to 8 pm.
Petaluma Reader's Theater ensemble is busy cooking up a tantalizing rendition of food tales to share (including one of mine) for a November event, which I'll share when I have more details along.
December is just around the corner. I'll let you know of yet another fun book and botanical event in the works for local book, plant and flower lovers when I have a date.
