Sunset on Sonoma Mountain, just minutes from downtown Petaluma was the picture perfect time for me to take a tour of this private, exclusive, super-luxury estate, set amidst rolling hills of dairy pasture land and panoramic mountain views.
Vintage sports cars don't come with this six-bedroom, six bath house, though I'm sure our friends at British European Motors, located just a few miles away, would be more than happy to help you source a dream car or two (or eight). Not just one, but two carriage houses await the serious motoring enthusiast!
British European Motor's Mark and team had no problem finding parking spots.
This spectacular one-story custom home (with guest unit) was built in 2007 and is currently on the market for $2.8 million.
Having raced out of an evening event in the area to catch the sunset, I left my dancing shoes at the front door. Hand scraped hickory floors with radiant heating make for finest quality surface underfoot.
Views, views, views. I especially loved spotting a herd of classic black and white bovines plodding around in view of a guest bedroom window. Not too close, but near enough to know you're in the heart of Sonoma County.
Eight fireplaces, a media room, studio, indoor spas, outdoor entertainment area and craftsmanship throughout. By the time the sun set over Sonoma Mountain I was rather reluctant to leave (having retrieved my dancing shoes and readied for my return to the lowlands). This level of luxury is well met when nestled so discreetly in the hills.
Goodnight Sonoma Mountain, goodnight moon!
