My favorite nature photographer and youngest son, Dominic Rivetti (16), photographed old buildings and wildlife at public viewing and education areas at the Lighthouse Observation Deck, South Beach Overlook, Elephant Seal Overlook, Historic Lifeboat Station, and Drakes Beach during his experience as a volunteer docent for the National Park Service’s “Winter Wildlife Program” at Point Reyes National Seashore, between January and March, 2015.
The Winter Wildlife Program promotes awareness and protection of northern elephant seals, gray whales, and other marine life by helping visitors view, understand, and appreciate these species.
Dominic spent weekend days out at the peninsula on Point Reyes during a rigorous academic junior year in high school. I'm so proud of him in following his passion for nature and photography alongside his studies.
Many thanks to Gail and Lesley at Aqus Cafe at Foundry Wharf for supporting Dom's work with an exhibit wall through June 28th, 2015. Stop in for a coffee and a peruse when you're out and about.
