Enjoy an inspiring day of "Everything Wool!" The 2nd Annual Valley Ford Farm to Home Wool Festival showcases close to a 100 fiber/jewelry/craft artisan vendors. I attended this event last year and it was well worth calendar planning for a half day outing to fully enjoy a morning or afternoon amongst local fiber folk, musicians and trowel-to-table food vendors.
Experience sheep shearing at 11am each day, Wool Mill tours, wool grading and educational demonstrations with fiber growers and artists . Fleeces are traded and sold from raw, to washed, carded as well as handspun yarns and felted fabrics.
Watch artists spinning, weaving, knitting, felting. Valley Ford Wool and Mercantile has its our own booth where kids and grownups are invited to learn to felt.
Local musicians Free Peoples play on Saturday from Noon-4pm and The Bad Apple String Band on Sunday from Noon-4pm.
Returning vendors The Greengrocer and The Bone Broth Company will be on site serving delicious dishes, Tea & Trumpets also will be there with an exquisite range of organic teas. Taste local artisan cheeses and Haverton Hill Creamery sheep milk ice cream.

The Mercantile store at the wool mill is located opposite Valley Ford Hotel. The Wool Festival takes place in the side yard of the mill and store. There's plenty of parking nearby.
I'm proud to have sold lots of copies of Fog Valley Crush in the Mercantile during and since a memorable book signing out there one stormy evening in December. The fiber community is an important and wonderful sector of Sonoma County and West Marin's progressive agricultural scene. Don't miss this annual highlight.
