Shared Housing and Resource Exchange, an invaluable new non-profit doing great work here in Sonoma County is reaching out to find a match for a work-exchange homeshare for talented fine- woodworker, Mark D, whose defined carpentry services are available in trade for a free room.
SHARE Director Amy Appleton works in partnership with Petaluma People Services Center . "There continues to be a lot of interest in the service exchange share whereby someone lives for free or pays lesser rent in exchange for well-defined services provided of up to 15 hours / week," says Amy.
SHARE helps facilitate safe homeshares for homeowners and renters who are currently stressed financially, experiencing life transitions, looking for companionship, or needing basic assistance (service in exchange) in order to remain housed and age-financial burdens, providing companionship, security for anyone afraid to be home alone, remain home and age-in-place for those who need basic assistance
Home-Sharing is a living arrangement of two or more unrelated people who share a home or apartment for their mutual benefit. Each person has their own bedroom and possibly bathroom, but shares common living areas.
Home-Sharing benefits include:
- ease of financial burdens
- providing companionship
- security for anyone afraid to be home alone
- remain home and age-in-place for those who need basic assistance
SHARE is now accepting applications to help people identify, screen and thrive with housing partners.
I'll be writing more about this particular non-profit soon, but in the meantime, check out Mark's website here to see his stunning work in more detail. Amy describes him as "An amazing, talented woodcraftsman".
