The first in a series of paintings and drawings that expands upon artist Jim Richard’s more typical portrait and figurative work, “The Nature of the Dance” includes works from nature that explore movement as expressed in dance. Jim is inspired by the simple beauty seen in life – ranging from simple movement and line, to physical embodiment. Recognizing and recording that representation (as opposed to the idealization) of that natural beauty is his desire and challenge.
