First Look at "Fog Valley Crush" – My First Vintage Limited Edition Book Coming Soon

 

It's only fair to share this with you all first — much appreciated longtime supporters of Southern Sonoma Country Life. 

For the past two-and-a-half years I have been feverishly (and enthusiastically, lest that sounds like it wasn't the fun that it actually was) been hard at work penning my book, "Fog Valley Crush". 

It's my love-letter to this micro-region of farmers, food innovators, artists and dreamers in which I live and work. 

Part memoir, part reportage, "Fog Valley Crush" is a celebration and a sharing of Petaluma and surrounding countryside, an extraordinary place that is the last secret-corner of wine country.

Vintage and modern day recipes are peppered throughout, though this is not a cookbook, or a coffee table book, it is an in-depth, non-fiction romp through this tastiest of small regions, featuring farm-to-table friends, neighbors and artisan food, beer, cheese and wine leaders, from my perspective as a British/American journalist and a local!

Just over 300 pages long, Fog Valley Crush has been lovingly prepared for print, thanks to my dream editorial and design team of fellow Petalumans, Elaine Silver, Nicky Ovitt and Lorna Johnson's awesome, amazing and meticulous talents.

It's going to need a lot of community love to make its way in the world. I'll be launching a Kickstarter  with a video trailer  in the coming week to pre-sell first vintage limited edition copies in time for this year's holiday market.

I'll post the link for the campaign just as soon as it is live. Please do share that link when it's up and running with friends and family and, if you live in the Petaluma area, to anyone in the world who you'd like to know why you choose to live here! 

Look out for a Facebook page (and web page) in the next few days, too. Lots and lots to do, as you may imagine.

This book in the making has been a family-affair, everyone has pitched in to keep me on track. One of the most wonderful gifts of which, is the following book trailer, shot by camera man Gilles O'Kane and produced by my son, Rocco Rivetti. It really does capture the warmth of Southern Sonoma Country!
