True to form, Anderson's faded, instagram-like set, captivating costume design, fabulous casting, quirky script, off-beat music and distinctive editing has produced an enchanting backdrop for the tale of a couple of geeky 12-year-olds falling in love in the wilderness (much to the adults' chagrin) in the summer of 1965.
This is a movie I'd love to watch again, at home, to fully appreciate the craftsmanship of its making. Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Edward Norton in full scouting regalia and Frances McDormand were each superbly funny, but the real stars were whimsical, troubled fugitives Sam Shakusky (Jared Gilman) and pen-pal Suzy Bishop (Kara Hayward).
Was NOT going to see it. However, as you have recommended it...:-)
