Down a one track, private lane deep in cattle country to the West of Petaluma, magic was afoot this Christmas week.
Cucumber sandwiches, Hogwart's ham, jelly frogs, whipped cream and jam Swiss and oven-warmed Sausage Rolls, punch and teapots, wands, suspended witches hats, owls and brooms completed a festive tableau of fine china for a surprise sweet 16th for a special young lady who couldn't have been more delighted.
That the hostess had most of this amazing decor handy in the area's ultimate barn storage was a major element in the enchantment of it all.
It is a magical season. Dig around for whatever will complete the holiday scene in your home this final week of the year and the memories you'll make will live on in the minds of those around you for years to come.
A Very Happy Christmas to all of my wonderful readers. May peace and joy be yours.
