A Very Della Thanksgiving

Making your list, checking it twice? Unless, like one bragging blogger not too far from your inbox, your Turkey Day pies are baked and frozen and ready to roll out on the big day with plenty of time to stuff a bird, why not save yourself a lot of extra shopping, elbow grease and flour splattered countertops with a nifty order in at SoCo's favorite Della Fattoria Bakery?

Order by November 21st (2010) and pick your pleasure, for the vintage pie display cases in Della's historic downtown Petaluma storefront will be set to overflow with Chocolate Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie with Maple Meringue, Pippin Apple Pie, Jim Beam Bourbon Pumpkin Cheesecake, Brown Butter Pumpkin Layer Cake with (wait for it) Cream Cheese Frosting and Candid Pecans.

Oh Mama, if that little line up has not yet tickled your holiday taste buds, how about an armload of morning pastries for the holiday breakfast table? Choose from croissant,   butterhorns, scones, jam Danish, ham and havarti.

Keep the mother-in-law happy with a streusal coffee cake or a bearclaw coffee cake ring and of course, an array of quintessentially Sonoma County Della-baked breads such as walnut current or walnut fig baguette, levain, campagne, rosemary (my favorite), pumpkin seed (Dom's favorite), olive or polenta.

And let's be honest, who likes making stuffing? Isn't there enough to do already? At least save yourself a bit of work with a bag of Della croutons or whole wheat for stuffing.

House full of visiting relatives and you don't fancy cooking two big meals in a row?
