Just one more photo from my travel-log to share! I loved this coastal American July scene shot in Marblehead on that one, incredibly breathless day of intense heat before the storm broke.
Thanks to all who have followed my travel posts and put up with their lengthy prose. For all who have asked, yes, I am back at my writer's desk on the West Coast, having returned to the Bay Area this past Sunday.
I've unpacked, changed sheets, hung them out to dry in the gorgeous light breeze of SoCo summer's afternoon, washed what seems like 20 loads of laundry, tended to biz and am about ready to think up some new adventures for my blog......
Keep in touch, it's great to get the feedback. Comments are easy to make in the space below this post, though many readers prefer to email directly. Either way - why not share your travel stories this summer?

While it may give you angst to consider it--plan a trip back in the Fall...particularly New England. By the bye, we finally made it to Mendocino and got lots of garden pixs. I will avoid talking about the quality of the cuisine or service.I will caution people to NOT buy gas in Mendocino--$4.79 a gallon. Down the road a few miles you can get it for $3.28

the last time I stayed overnight in Mendocino itself I suffered such severe food poisoning that the Italian husband was forced to play not one 18-hole round of golf, but two. I was so incapacitated I could do nothing but lay in bed for 24 hours. It had been a rare get-away from parenting our three sons (my parents had been visiting from England and had packed us off) and I remember that I was so thankful that I was still alive and kicking by the time we headed home to Sonoma County! Still, I love Mendocino and enjoyed a fabulous lunch during my last visit to Boonville & Philo.
