Live or work in Sonoma County? There is absolutely no excuse to say that you don't have time to shop a farmer's market this summer season.
For street markets selling the county's best and bountiful in fruit, produce, artisan breads, cheeses, honeys and lots, lots more are up and running and hoping to see you and your basket stroll the sidewalk sometime soon!
Petaluma's Wednesday evening markets (4.30 to 8 pm) fill the city's downtown Theater District's 2nd Street with fabulous fresh foods and regional crafts through September 1st and Saturday afternoon markets (see photos above) in nearby Walnut Park run from 2 to 5 pm right through to the end of October.
Support local growers, Petaluma Bounty and a bevvy of enthusiastic crafters in a convenient, tree-lined location with a park and pony rides for the kids.
Further North, the city of Windsor has added a market on Thursday nights and Sunday mornings, with P'Town neighbor Rohnert Park adding to the roster on Friday nights in the Library parking lot next to RP City Center Plaza.
Cloverdale farmer's markets are held from 5.30 to 7.30 pm on Fridays at Cloverdale Plaza starting June 15th.
Healdsburg has its abundant market up and running Tuesdays 4 t0 6.30 pm and Saturdays 9 am to noon.
Every third Thursday of the month a farmer's market fills the parking lot at the Geyserville Inn, from 5.30 pm until dark.
Head out to Occidental on a Friday evening from 4 pm until dusk and enjoy the local produce and a pick of great spots to dine out in the cool and quirky remoteness of the redwoods.
Santa Rosa's farmer's market offers fresh fruit and veg year-round from 8.30 am to noon Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1351 Maple Avenue and last, but not least, fruit basket of the west county, Sebastopol's farmer's market operates in the center of town Sunday mornings from 10 to 1.30 pm.
The city of Sonoma itself also holds a year-round farmer's market from 9 to noon on Fridays in the Depot parking lot.

I love the Turtle Lodge shot, Frank, and I for one will be happy to have a respite from all of the politic mailers after tomorrow...
