As the school year winds to a halt and grads prepare for the next big step, now's the time to share a thumbs up by my college freshman son for Santa Clara-based Chegg's most excellent text book rental service.
Having hunted around online after several truly disastrous attempts to purchase used text books on an (unapologetic) Amazon.com, he was duly impressed with how easy and efficient this particular rental service is to use.
I thought it interesting that not too many guys have got on board with the concept of renting text books in comparison to their female student counterparts. Chegg reports that text book rental custom is currently driven by Females at 70% and Males at 30%. Is it because young male students are somewhat more likely to be disorganized, I wonder? Or maybe female college students are ahead of the curve when caring for the environment and watching their budget?
