For some reason I have steered myself clear of the temptation to 'pop' into Pierre's emporium of all things exquisite, vintage and drool-worthy. Until, that is, ever-illuminating artist and partner-in-occasional-treasure-splurge-crime, Gail, did in fact, succeed in a long-brewing plot to entice me to step foot over this downtown threshold of all things glittery, old and gorgeous!
Just take a look at this priceless set from a former Gumps Department store. Just one of the many beautiful items on display at Pierre's place at 110A Petaluma Blvd South (707 789 9553). I knew there was a reason for me not to get a gander inside and that reason is solely to protect any wanton pocket book expenditure.
'Want' being the appropriate word. So many lovely things. Pierre Clauzon moved across the street in downtown Petaluma's busy restaurant row a couple years back, after several years of expert buying and selling within one of the bustling neighborhood art and antique collectives.
With meticulous taste and an eye for items with equally fabulous histories, Pierre's antiquities deserve to be stand-alone pieces. Coupled with classical, piped music and a gallery-like atmosphere, don't be put off by an air of exclusivity, for Pierre takes immense pleasure in telling the stories behind items that speak to anyone taking the time for a browse. I liked the fact that there was no pressure to purchase, but more emphasis on the appreciation and value of well preserved paintings, fine furnishings and unique, vintage baubles and bangles.

Totally unrelated--but your e-mails are bouncing back. This was the only way I know to tell you.
