We were invited to a Thanksgiving dinner in London last year, hosted by some American friends. They put on a fabulous spread, I loved it all....except for a strange marshmallow sweet potato dish. Was crazy (and very unexpected, so I had to quietly munch my way through it without the horror showing on my face!!!!)

Oh yes, the toasted marshmallow yam dish is to Thanksgiving what bread sauce is to a traditional British holiday roast dinner, something you'd never dream of serving with dinner any other time of year! Not one of my favorites, but very popular with the younger generation, so can't see it dying out of favor here!
