Wine country weddings generally stage as spectacular affairs of romance amidst the vines, but when the bridal pair are in the wine business themselves, the emphasis on pairing down the backdrop to a picture-perfect, rural back yard setting makes for a magical scenario in which to share the most intimate of life's ceremonies.
When Jason Jenkins of Petaluma's popular Vine and Barrel Boutique Wine Store wed his sweetheart Kelly in their vintage, West Petaluma home's hillside farm and pretty backyard, the fine wine flowed alongside a delicious harvest themed dinner, including freshly prepared vegetables from the groom's garden.
Music by live Latin/Afro beat/Samba band Carlos Herrera (see Robert Ramirez looking rather spiffy in hat and Cuban shirt pictured third from top) filled the unusually balmy evening here within the Petaluma Gap's sleeping wind and fog tunnel with sultry sounds, as guests of the Petaluma-born-and-raised pair toasted the glowing couple.
A hillside ceremony against a low alter of hand-stacked, adobe rock dotted with sunflowers led the happy occasion into the side yard for dinner and dancing.
New dad, wine country's sommelier to the stars, Chris Sawyer (pictured with Jason above the last pic of the bride and groom) was in grand form despite this renowned SoCo wine expert's recent shift in sleep patterns! Recycling the wine bottles from this particular P'Town wedding will be quite the sight to behold!

Kelly, such a beauty!!!

What an enchanted evening, I don't recall too many summer's evenings here in Petaluma being so cooperatively warm, sultry and ultimately delightful.
