Have you made a pit-stop at Petaluma's newly opened, retro soda fountain/ice cream parlor in the totally transformed downtown vintage storefront that was Deaf Dog Coffee shop?
Stopped in at Lala's Creamery with the Friday evening burrito bunch for something sweet for afters and partook of a lick or two of the homemade chocolate mint chip and probably at least half of the Italian husband's rum and raisin (my new favorite). What a fantastic addition to our downtown. It was busy, too, which is an encouraging sign as we all keep a close eye on the economic upturn. Still, I guess there will always be a market for good ice cream, just like there is always a market for chocolate. And wine!

It just so happens I met the owner Will at yesterday's www.PetalumaGap.com vineyard tour. I was so excited once I found out and shared with him how everyone in my family voted for Lala's as the best place to get ice cream in Petaluma for the People's Choice Awards.
We had to move on to the tour & I planned to blab more about how much I loved the Jr. banana split and how wonderful his staff is, especially Michael. But alas, Will wasn't at the third vineyard so I didn't get my chance.
I was so impressed with Lala's and will definitely frequent it.
Cheerios!
