Why do the manufacturers of today's designer denims assume that wearers of all shapes and sizes will be strutting around in Gary Glitter-height platform soles? It's so annoying to have to hack off a half foot of fabric to wear a new pair of jeans with everyday shoes.
Here to make the inevitable shortening process a lot more fun is Petaluma entrepreneur Lexi Radomile, owner of Sorella Fashion Boutique in the Old Mill.
"I just recently brought a very large industrial sewing machine to my store," says the self-described Jean Queen. "I now provide a jean hemming service to all my customers where I leave the jeans, 'left with the original manufactured hem.' I do this service LIVE in front of my store, to catch peoples' eye while they walk by heading to the gym."
The Queen Jean cites her inspiration as popular Petaluma Pete, a regular fixture around the Old Mill and downtown area, as he wheels his piano to prominent street corners to keep us smiling!
Radomile is this month's stand-out in our 'Meet the Merchants' category for her fresh, new approach to keeping independently owned business up-to-date with trends and customer needs.
Sorella Fashion Boutique boutique is located at 6 Petaluma Boulevard North, in the Old Mill, Suite A12.

Bravo! We could use more practical place to spend our style funds! I think I have some jeans looking for a lift.

Lexi is amazing, she brightens Petaluma with her beautiful smile and fabulous attitude. Her store rocks! She hems all my jeans, even fixing a pair at no charge when I told her to leave them too long. She didn't want to see my trip and fall while I hoped my legs would grow.
